Thrift::XS::CompactProtocol(3) User Contributed Perl Documentation Thrift::XS::CompactProtocol(3)

Thrift::XS::CompactProtocol - More efficient binary protocol

    use Thrift;
    use Thrift::Socket;
    use Thrift::FramedTransport;
    use Thrift::XS::CompactProtocol;
    use MyThriftInterface;

    my $socket    = Thrift::Socket->new( $host, $port );
    my $transport = Thrift::FramedTransport->new($socket);
    my $protocol  = Thrift::XS::CompactProtocol->new($transport);
    my $client    = MyThriftInterface->new($protocol);

    $transport->open;

    $client->api_call( @args );

As the name implies, this is a more compact and efficient binary protocol.
