DATA-SAFE_LIBRARY-MASKING-FORMAT(1) OCI CLI Command Reference DATA-SAFE_LIBRARY-MASKING-FORMAT(1)

data-safe_library-masking-format -

A library masking format is a masking format stored in an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure compartment and can be used in multiple masking policies. If you want to use the same masking logic for multiple masking columns or even in multiple masking policies, you can create a library masking format and assign it to masking columns as needed. It helps you avoid defining the same masking logic again and again.

Oracle Data Safe provides a set of predefined library masking formats to mask common sensitive and personal data, such as names, national identifiers, credit card numbers, and phone numbers. To meet your specific requirements, you can easily create new library masking formats and use them in your masking policies.

  • Required Parameters
  • Optional Parameters
  • Global Parameters
  • Examples

Moves the specified library masking format into a different compartment.

oci data-safe library-masking-format change-compartment [OPTIONS]

--compartment-id, -c [text]

The OCID of the compartment where the library masking format should be moved.

--library-masking-format-id [text]

The OCID of the library masking format.

--from-json [text]

Provide input to this command as a JSON document from a file using the file://path-to/file syntax.

The --generate-full-command-json-input option can be used to generate a sample json file to be used with this command option. The key names are pre-populated and match the command option names (converted to camelCase format, e.g. compartment-id –> compartmentId), while the values of the keys need to be populated by the user before using the sample file as an input to this command. For any command option that accepts multiple values, the value of the key can be a JSON array.

Options can still be provided on the command line. If an option exists in both the JSON document and the command line then the command line specified value will be used.

For examples on usage of this option, please see our “using CLI with advanced JSON options” link: https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/API/SDKDocs/cliusing.htm#AdvancedJSONOptions

--if-match [text]

For optimistic concurrency control. In the PUT or DELETE call for a resource, set the if-match parameter to the value of the etag from a previous GET or POST response for that resource. The resource will be updated or deleted only if the etag you provide matches the resource’s current etag value.

Use oci --help for help on global parameters.

--auth-purpose, --auth, --cert-bundle, --cli-auto-prompt, --cli-rc-file, --config-file, --debug, --defaults-file, --endpoint, --generate-full-command-json-input, --generate-param-json-input, --help, --latest-version, --max-retries, --no-retry, --opc-client-request-id, --opc-request-id, --output, --profile, --query, --raw-output, --region, --release-info, --request-id, --version, -?, -d, -h, -i, -v

Copy and paste the following example into a JSON file, replacing the example parameters with your own.

    oci data-safe library-masking-format create --generate-param-json-input format-entries > format-entries.json

Copy the following CLI commands into a file named example.sh. Run the command by typing “bash example.sh” and replacing the example parameters with your own.

Please note this sample will only work in the POSIX-compliant bash-like shell. You need to set up the OCI configuration <https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/API/SDKDocs/cliinstall.htm#configfile> and appropriate security policies <https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/Identity/Concepts/policygetstarted.htm> before trying the examples.

Creates a new library masking format. A masking format can have one or more format entries. The combined output of all the format entries is used for masking. It provides the flexibility to define a masking format that can generate different parts of a data value separately and then combine them to get the final data value for masking. Note that you cannot define masking condition in a library masking format.

oci data-safe library-masking-format create [OPTIONS]

--compartment-id, -c [text]

The OCID of the compartment where the library masking format should be created.

--format-entries [complex type]

An array of format entries. The combined output of all the format entries is used for masking. This is a complex type whose value must be valid JSON. The value can be provided as a string on the command line or passed in as a file using the file://path/to/file syntax.

The --generate-param-json-input option can be used to generate an example of the JSON which must be provided. We recommend storing this example in a file, modifying it as needed and then passing it back in via the file:// syntax.

--defined-tags [complex type]

Defined tags for this resource. Each key is predefined and scoped to a namespace. For more information, see Resource Tags <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/resourcetags.htm>

Example:

{"Operations": {"CostCenter": "42"}}

--description [text]

The description of the library masking format.

--display-name [text]

The display name of the library masking format. The name does not have to be unique, and it’s changeable.

--freeform-tags [complex type]

Free-form tags for this resource. Each tag is a simple key-value pair with no predefined name, type, or namespace. For more information, see Resource Tags <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/resourcetags.htm>

Example:

{"Department": "Finance"}

--max-wait-seconds [integer]

The maximum time to wait for the work request to reach the state defined by --wait-for-state. Defaults to 1200 seconds.

--sensitive-type-ids [complex type]

An array of OCIDs of the sensitive types compatible with the library masking format. It helps track the sensitive types for which the library masking format is being created.
