JSON::Schema::Error(3) User Contributed Perl Documentation JSON::Schema::Error(3)

JSON::Schema::Error - an error that occurred when checking an instance against a schema

 my $validator = JSON::Schema->new($schema);
 my $json      = from_json( ... );
 my $result    = $validator->validate($json);

 if ($result)
 {
   print "Valid!\n";
 }
 else
 {
   print "Errors\n";
        print " - $_\n" foreach $result->errors;
 }

JSON::Schema::Error is returned by the JSON::Schema::Result "errors" method. It uses overload to mimic a string. That is:

  print $error;

Will print something sensible.

There's also a two methods "property" and "message" which return the JSONPath to the node that caused the error, and the error message respectively.

Lastly, there's methods "title" and "description" which return the title and description of the offending property, as given in the schema.

JSON::Schema, JSON::Schema::Result.
