camera - Webcam and photo camera application

camera [-d device] [-O overlay] [-H] [-h] [-R] [-r] [-V] [-v] [-x]

camera is a webcam application, with the ability to take pictures. It also supports image flipping (horizontal and vertical) and choosing alternative scaling algorithms (via the preferences window).

The following options are available:

-d

Specify a video device to open.

-H

Force the output to be flipped horizontally.

-h

Force the output not to be flipped horizontally.

-O

Specify an image to display on top of the camera feed.

-R

Force the output to preserve the aspect ratio when scaling.

-r

Scale the output without preserving the aspect ratio.

-V

Force the output to be flipped vertically.

-v

Force the output not to be flipped vertically.

-x

Start the application in embedded mode (for embedding inside other applications).
