FASDA-PVAL-SIM(1) FreeBSD General Commands Manual FASDA-PVAL-SIM(1)

fasda pval-sim - Generate simulated counts and compute P-values

fasda pval-sim count1-mean count2-mean max-deviation replicates trials

The fasda pval-sim command attempts generates random counts based on count1-mean, count2-mean, max-deviation, and replicates. The first set of counts is in the range count1-mean +/- count1-mean * max-deviation, with a uniform random distribution. The second sets of counts is count2-mean +/- count2-mean * max-deviation.

There will be replicates counts in each set, so a total of 2 * replicates counts.

pval-sim then computes the exact (replicates < 5), near-exact (5 <= replicates <= 10) and/or Mann-Whitney (replicates >= 8) P-values for the generated counts. If trials > 1, the experiment is repeated with new counts.

fasda-abundance(1), fasda-fold-change(1), fasda-normalize(1)
