network_ipv6 -

An IPv6 is a conceptual term that refers to an IPv6 address and related properties. The IPv6 object is the API representation of an IPv6.

You can create and assign an IPv6 to any VNIC that is in an IPv6-enabled subnet in an IPv6-enabled VCN.

Note: IPv6 addressing is supported for all commercial and government regions. For important details about IPv6 addressing in a VCN, see IPv6 Addresses <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/Network/Concepts/ipv6.htm>.

Creates an IPv6 for the specified VNIC.

oci network ipv6 create [OPTIONS]


--vnic-id [text]

The OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm> of the VNIC to assign the IPv6 to. The IPv6 will be in the VNIC’s subnet.

--defined-tags [complex type]

Defined tags for this resource. Each key is predefined and scoped to a namespace. For more information, see Resource Tags <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/resourcetags.htm>.

Example:

This is a complex type whose value must be valid JSON. The value can be provided as a string on the command line or passed in as a file using the file://path/to/file syntax.

The --generate-param-json-input option can be used to generate an example of the JSON which must be provided. We recommend storing this example in a file, modifying it as needed and then passing it back in via the file:// syntax.

--display-name [text]

A user-friendly name. Does not have to be unique, and it’s changeable. Avoid entering confidential information.

--freeform-tags [complex type]

Free-form tags for this resource. Each tag is a simple key-value pair with no predefined name, type, or namespace. For more information, see Resource Tags <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/resourcetags.htm>.

--from-json [text]

Provide input to this command as a JSON document from a file using the file://path-to/file syntax.

The --generate-full-command-json-input option can be used to generate a sample json file to be used with this command option. The key names are pre-populated and match the command option names (converted to camelCase format, e.g. compartment-id –> compartmentId), while the values of the keys need to be populated by the user before using the sample file as an input to this command. For any command option that accepts multiple values, the value of the key can be a JSON array.

Options can still be provided on the command line. If an option exists in both the JSON document and the command line then the command line specified value will be used.

--ip-address [text]

An IPv6 address of your choice. Must be an available IP address within the subnet’s CIDR. If you don’t specify a value, Oracle automatically assigns an IPv6 address from the subnet. The subnet is the one that contains the VNIC you specify in vnicId.

--ipv6-subnet-cidr [text]

The IPv6 CIDR allocated to the subnet. This is required if more than one IPv6 CIDR exists on the subnet.

--max-wait-seconds [integer]

The maximum time to wait for the resource to reach the lifecycle state defined by --wait-for-state. Defaults to 1200 seconds.

--wait-for-state [text]

This operation creates, modifies or deletes a resource that has a defined lifecycle state. Specify this option to perform the action and then wait until the resource reaches a given lifecycle state. Multiple states can be specified, returning on the first state. For example, --wait-for-state SUCCEEDED --wait-for-state FAILED would return on whichever lifecycle state is reached first. If timeout is reached, a return code of 2 is returned. For any other error, a return code of 1 is returned.

Accepted values are:

AVAILABLE, PROVISIONING, TERMINATED, TERMINATING


--wait-interval-seconds [integer]

Check every --wait-interval-seconds to see whether the resource to see if it has reached the lifecycle state defined by --wait-for-state. Defaults to 30 seconds.

Use oci --help for help on global parameters.

Unassigns and deletes the specified IPv6. You must specify the object’s OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm>. The IPv6 address is returned to the subnet’s pool of available addresses.

Perform deletion without prompting for confirmation.

--from-json [text]

--if-match [text]

For optimistic concurrency control. In the PUT or DELETE call for a resource, set the if-match parameter to the value of the etag from a previous GET or POST response for that resource. The resource will be updated or deleted only if the etag you provide matches the resource’s current etag value.

--max-wait-seconds [integer]

The maximum time to wait for the resource to reach the lifecycle state defined by --wait-for-state. Defaults to 1200 seconds.

Alternatively, you can get the object by using ListIpv6s <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/tools/oci-cli/latest/oci_cli_docs/cmdref/network/ipv6/list.html> with the IPv6 address (for example, 2001:0db8:0123:1111:98fe:dcba:9876:4321) and subnet OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm>.

Subnet OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm>. * VNIC OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm>. * Both IPv6 address and subnet OCID: This lets you get an Ipv6 object based on its private IPv6 address (for example, 2001:0db8:0123:1111:abcd:ef01:2345:6789) and not its OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm>. For comparison, GetIpv6 <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/tools/oci-cli/latest/oci_cli_docs/cmdref/network/ipv6/get.html> requires the OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm>.

--all

Fetches all pages of results. If you provide this option, then you cannot provide the --limit option.

--from-json [text]

--ip-address [text]

An IP address. This could be either IPv4 or IPv6, depending on the resource. Example: 10.0.3.3

--limit [integer]

For list pagination. The maximum number of results per page, or items to return in a paginated “List” call. For important details about how pagination works, see List Pagination <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/API/Concepts/usingapi.htm#nine>.

--page [text]

For list pagination. The value of the opc-next-page response header from the previous “List” call. For important details about how pagination works, see List Pagination <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/API/Concepts/usingapi.htm#nine>.

--page-size [integer]

When fetching results, the number of results to fetch per call. Only valid when used with --all or --limit, and ignored otherwise.

--subnet-id [text]

The OCID <https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/General/Concepts/identifiers.htm> of the subnet.

--vnic-id [text]

The OCID of the VNIC.
