taiclockd(1) FreeBSD General Commands Manual taiclockd(1)

taiclockd - announce the system's clock through TAICLOCK

taiclockd

taiclockd announces the local UNIX clock through the TAICLOCK protocol. It listens for TAICLOCK requests through UDP and responds with the system's current time.

DO NOT RUN taiclockd IF YOUR SYSTEM IS TUNED BY xntpd. See http://pobox.com/~djb/proto/utctai.html for further discussion.

taiclockd does not need to run as root.
