jmakewhatis.local start
jmakewhatis(1)
only for file systems physically mounted on the system where the
jmakewhatis.local is being executed. Running
jmakewhatis by periodic
weekly for rw nfs-mounted /usr may kill your NFS server -- all NFS
clients start jmakewhatis at the same time! So use
this wrapper for
cron(8)
instead of calling jmakewhatis directly.
jcatman.local is using for same purposes as
jmakewhatis.local but for
jcatman(1).
The makewhatis.local command appeared in
FreeBSD 2.2. Japanized
jmakewhatis.local command appeared in ports/packages
collection of FreeBSD 2.2.
