overview - update the NOV database.

SYNOPSIS

overview [ -r ]

DESCRIPTION

Overview updates the NOV database that is kept in .overview files in the directories of the news spool. It reads the active file and updates the .overview file for each group in turn. By default existing NOV entries are reused where appropriate but if the -r option is given they are discarded and all the entries are made from the article files.

OPTIONS

-r

recreate existing NOV entries from article files.
