vigr
edit the group file

vigr [-d directory]

The vigr utility makes a temporary copy of the group file, allows the user to edit it, then verifies that the edited file is valid before installing it.

The following options are available:

directory
Edit the group file in the specified directory instead of the default /etc/group.

The editor to use instead of vi(1).
The directory in which to store the temporary copy of the group file.

group(5), chkgrp(8), vipw(8)

The vigr utility appeared in FreeBSD 11.0.
